There is so much to talk about. I will try and make it quick.

Our First Day Heading Home

Coming home 039

We had a great time in Banff seeing the sites and enjoying the scenery! We camped above Banff City in freezing weather in just a single sleeping bag and a tent. I sacrificed my back to the cold temperatures for the sake of my lovely wife. We saw about 50 elk, many deer scattered here and there, and one moose. We had such a good time together. For lunch we made our own hamburgers next to the car and for dinner we had sausages over a warm fire.

The Other Three Days Heading Home

Coming home 084

From Banff we headed through Idaho to St Maries. We spent the night with Keiths family. Keiths mom is one of the sweetest woman I have ever met. They opened their house to us even though we didn't get there till around 11:00 P.M. and sent us off with a stomach full of huckleberry scones. The two young men in the picture are Noah and Joshua (if its not joshua I will be very embarrassed), they are Keiths nephews. Northern Idaho has some of the most beautiful country that I have ever seen. We then headed to Boise to see Kit's grandparents. Her grandparents are very wonderful people. I feel very privileged to know them, especially her grandfather. Their names are Mel and Jane. Mel served in the same famous War World II battle that my grandfather fought in. The Battle of the Bulgde (I hope that is how you spell it). They some of the very few men to have survived.  The are very pleasant people to converse with, except when they are both talking to at the same time, about two different subjects, and neither of them are paying attention to what the other is saying. Thats definitely funny.  Did I mention that Mel is 85 and still does pushups!!!! I don't even do pushups. What a respectable man.

Arriving Home

Coming home 132

After Boise we finally headed home to Utah with after a short stop at Jack in the Box to see Kits parents. After four days of traveling we finally made it home to Utah around 9:00 Wednesday night. Its good to be home. I came home to discover my mom bought a new companion named Pixie Ann. I think she looks more like a Skookem. She is so tiny! As you can tell in the picture her head is no bigger than a rain gutter drain. For those that don't know, my mom has been battling cancer for the last 8 years. She has been such a trooper and has gone through more than I can say. I respect her so much and so does most who know her and meet her.

The Race for the Cure!

 Coming home and racing 084

So in honor of my mom, Kit and I decided to participate in a 5 K run to help support the cause to find a cure for breast cancer. Over 14,000 people participated. It was such an incredible experience gathering with 14,000 people who all are gathered for the same cause. Kit and I started at the beginning and kept a good pace the whole. I was very satisfied that we ran the whole way together without stopping. It was nice to support my mom in such a neat way. You can't see it but Kit and I now where a pink bracelet in support of cancer patients.

Well, that was a really quick run down of our trip home. Things have been so busy since we have gotten back. We still have not even began to unpacking. But in the midst of the business our future is being laid.

Kit and I just got told yesterday that our pastor wants us to be on staff at the church! We knew that we would be interning, but we had no idea that we were going to be on staff. We were so excited at the news and confidence that our pastor has in us. I can not believe that we are on staff. We will only be part time for now. We are going to be working Monday and Tuesday's at the church for 10 hours each day. I also just had an interview with a job that is willing to accommodate my schedule with the church and allow me to work only on Wednesday through Friday. I don't know if I have the job yet. They are going to talk over a few details and get back to me. If I get the job it will work out perfect. We are so excited.....Well, that is a quick update that took over 3 hours to write!....(is xanga worth it?) I just hope someone reads this! I hope the Lord is close to all your hearts were ever you are. All my friends, I love you guys! Sincerely.

Junior Senior Banquet 177      Hi everyone! Its almost time to go. We are so tired. We have been up the last two days from 7:00-800 a.m till 2-3:00 am. We have done so much and it feels great! We stayed up till 2:30 last night doing my first resume. I am finally getting a job other than my father's business. I am really excited to see what it is like working outside the Gonzales bubble. My family tells me that most people demand about 60 hours a week, with no vacation time , who only pay about 10,000, even with 10 years of college experience and that you can get fired for breathing wrong. I am really intimditated but I think I can manage. Its a scary place out there.

We are heading to Banff tomorrow with all of our stuff! It is going to be exciting. We feel all grown up hualing a little uhual behind our car. I guess the next thing on the way is a house and then children. Hopefully the home will come before the kid! But we wont mind. Has anyone else wanted to have a family of 12? I kinda wish we could do that, but it only seems possible if we lived out on a farm somewhere or a plantation. I wouldn't mind stuffing little Kits and Sams all around the house. We will see what the Lord would allow for us.

I can not believe school is over! It has been such an amazing year. Kit and I just saw Jeremy and Dee off this morning as they head to BC. I am realizing that a chapter in our life is now ending and a new one is about to begin. I am really excited for what lies ahead of us. And for you Xanga Nazis (the Dycks) out there, I am going to begin updating my xanga account more regularly.

I am very proud of my wife! Kit has been the most incredible friend to me.

Here is a little update in what is happening in our near future. Kit was able to walk during the grad ceremony, but still has 4 courses to finish by distant ed to be an official graduate. I don't know how much I have left. I think I have 4 semesters still to go. Our internship did not do much for us for credits. I will not be coming back to finish up here at Prairie. The reason why, is that my pastor has asked me to intern at our church when we come back home. Our church is incredible and there is no way that I can pass up this amazing opportunity. I still need to talk to Joe (that is our pastor) and work out the details, but I will probably begin after Kit finishes her distance ed and we get out of our parents house. I don't know if I will be working part time or not when I am interning. I am really excited and nervous. This is it. I have always wanted to intern under a godly man, and be apart of a healthy church (especially a Calvary Chapel). The last few years have been the most inwardly tiring years of my life. I feel as though the Lord had to dig up a lot of junk inwardly that I was not ready to deal with, so I would be prepared for what lies ahead. We are going to be leaving Sunday morning to head back home to Utah. We are going to camp in Banff on the way home. I am so excited to spend a night in the mountains with my wife. It is going to be our first camping experience together. It is probably going to be freezing! But, hey that is what camping is about, rugging it for the sake of experiencing God's amazing creation. And rugging it is the only way to go.

I am going to miss everyone here a ton. God has blessed us with some really good friends. Honestly, they are amazing! Here are a few pics of the last few weeks here at school. I wish Dan was in these pics with us! Thanks for a great year everyone. I love you guys! <><

Its been awhile since I wrote eh? noticed the Canadian back in me. I think I am so Canadian that I am going to run for Prime Minister soon. They just elected a good one and I figure why wouldnt they go for another good thing. Well it has been awhile and I dont know if I could can keep up with this Xanga culture! I am going to need some major eprops to keep going, I just dont knwo if I am going to make it without them..

For all of you who are married  here is some great marriage advice! Ready? When you are mad and in the midst of a fight and it seemst that you have no idea how to solve the issue! Even though you cant seem to stand the person at the moment because they have just become the enemy and they are infiltrating your base and reckoning havock in your little kingdom you call self, step back for a moment and let your temper settle and look closely at your enemys face, and there you will find that the hottest little thing you have ever seen is standing right in front of your face....then go make up..or make out! whatever! there is my major advice for the week!

Well I am giving this xanga thing another chance and lets see if I can keep up with it this time.

Well, Christmas is over and a new season is on its way! I am sure most people are still unwinding from the Holiday season and trying to find footing for the coming new year! Kit and I are actually winding things up and trying to get everything packed for the coming new School year! We are so excited to finally be heading back to College and probably finishing our last semester @ Prairie, Lord willing!

Friends, fellowship, man am I excited! It seems the dust never settled arriving back from Belize knowing in just a few months that we were going to be heading back to Prairie. Not wanting to get to attached to those around us here knowing that we were going to be uprooted again to another place. Finally after all the anticipation, all the saving, all the waiting the time is finally arriving to go! Man this is great!

Kit and I would appreciate all your prayers. You know for safety and everything, but also that God will really touch us and use us our last year there. Even if it is just a time of resting, relaxing and discovering again the wonderful God we serve! Also that God would teach me to stop being a jerk to Kit and that I would actually be a man and die to myself for the better of her and our relationship!  Any guys who has figured this out send me an email! Thanks! :)

I personally hope to find, at least for four months, a place to call home and finally get settled. Also enjoying the last few months that we are going to have at Prairie by making sweet memories with the wonderful people we call friends.

Jeer, Keith, Dan man I love you guys and cant wait to see you... BFME, Risk, Bible studies and prayer, learning from each other about marriage and having Dan praying for ours. Man lets make this last year good discovering our God made plan that the Lord has prepared for us and continue to build these rad friendships that our going to last a heck of a long time! You guys are my boys and I cant wait to see you.

The rest of you, I pray that you have a God-filled New Years! Not trying to start the new years with a million new years resolution of how you are going to be different this year, in which we are destined to fail in ourselves, but a new year deciding to find how the resurrection power can be lived in you to give you the new life you so desire, so that you can find the REAL hope and the PURE love you truly need for the rest of your life! The abundant life that God has promised to those that do it His way and not our way, Christ in us the hope of glory! ...

Extremely Sincerely!

Sam

singing off, over and out!
